Just a few of the many authors who have sparked my emotions, and influenced me in my journey as a writer.

A Childs Garden of Verse, by Robert Louis Stevenson, was my first book of treasures. His imaginative poems delight me still.

Shakespeare works were quite a mystery to me until fairly recently. Now that I understand the language of his time a little better his writings captivate me.

William Shakespeare 1564 -1616

Robert Louis Stevenson 1850 - 1894

“Tractor” a poem by Ted Hughes is, and will remain, one of my all time favourites. His use of descriptive words is amazing. I wish I could write like he did, but we all have our own niche to carve.

The tragic Sylvia Plath, if I had to choose just one of her poems it would be, “Mirror”. Looking into my own mirror often reminds me of her.

Poet Laureate Ted Hughes 1930 -1998

Sylvia Plath 1932 - 1963
